Christmas around the world
W.A.L about Christmas around the world.
I have learnt some new things. We have learnt how to say merry Christmas in different languages like Seng Dan Kuaile witch is in Chinese.
We have also learnt about food Christmas. In Mexico they leave out plum pudding for Santa. I find it cool how different countries do different stuff for Christmas.

Pigeon Opinion
We have been reading some cool pigeon books and if the pigeon should or shouldn't do whatever the book was about.
I have chosen the book Don't let the pigeon stay up late.
I have chosen the book Don't let the pigeon stay up late.
DON'T LET THE PIGEON STAY UP LATE!
I don’t think the pigeon should stay up late because…
If he wakes up tired then he won’t be able to do fun activities
Maybe if the pigeon is good and goes to bed then he will get to stay up later than usual.

Alarm Call
We are learning to make our story as creative as possible. - Layla
ALARM CALL
“Eeeeeek!” thought the green, ugly goblin. “I’m going to step on my kitten Mustard”(a robot kitten). Luckily this was only an evil mission practise. “Keep calm!” warned Mustard. “If this was for real then you would have got caught already!”. “I’m trying. You are just so EVIL!”. “Keep your temper Donnie! We don’t want to get attention”.
“Ok, ok”. Brrrrrriiiinnnnggg Brrrrrriiiinnnnggg! “Hello Donnie speaking”. “Hello this is your boss, Freddy. We have come across a problem. Come to the secret base 52 right away! Go go go!". "OK sarge". "Well better get going. Bye!".

Literacy Activity 1
WALT: COMPLETE the tasks for day 1 and start on Auckland.
Activity 1: Go to the Tourism New Zealand website and click on the ‘Facts - New Zealand People’ tab. Read about the people of New Zealand and then choose three interesting facts to post on your blog. The facts must be written in your own words. Do not simply copy and paste the facts from the website.

- Famous NZ filmmaker Peter Jackson created the Weta cave in Wellington.
- Kiwi AJ Hackett invented bungee jumping.
- For most kiwi's farming is a way of life.
Activity 2: Your tour of New Zealand is going to start in Auckland. Watch the Tourist video for Auckland to learn about the awesome things that you can see and do in the city. Once you’ve finished, choose your favorite five activities from the video and list them on your blog.
- Going to Rainbows End
- Visiting Auckland Zoo
- Seeing the fish in the Auquarium
- Ride a horse on the beach
- Go shopping in the mall
Bonus Activity: Now it’s time to start your tour! Curious Kiwi decides to start by taking you on a short tour through downtown Auckland. You stop at the Sky Tower, the tallest building in all of New Zealand. When you look up, you see a huge New Zealand flag on the top of the tower. This flag was created back in 1902. That makes the New Zealand flag 115 years old! Last year, the Prime Minister of New Zealand suggested that we should replace the flag with a new, updated design. He invited everyone in New Zealand to come up with their own flag design and submit it.
For this activity, it is your turn to design a new flag. Use any drawing programme.

My Logo Design
WALT: To create a logo based on yourself.
For the last 4 weeks we have been creating our own logo. I hope I can get some feedback in the comments so I can fix things and add or delete things.
First we got our project books and started planning and sketching. The next week we finished our sketching and and our plan and started to pick the colors. The colors represent certain things so we had to pick specific colors not just our favorite colors.
Then the next week we created our logo digitally and the last week we finished it and put it on our blog.

Fixed Mindset & Growth Mindset
WALT: To create a Fixed Mindset and a Growth Mindset and learn what they are!
Here is a piece of work that I have made about Mindsets. - Layla
During power time we have been learning about fixed mindsets and growth mindset. First we watched a clip about Luke Sky walker and Yoda. Luke had a fixed mindset. A fixed mindset is when you avoid work and you give up really easily. Yoda then had to teach Luke to have a growth mindset. A growth mindset is when you persist and you will do the job.

I had to make sure there were no white bits in the rainbow. After that I used different shades of blue and gray dye to create the dark, cloudy sky. - Layla

Awesome Antarctica
For Literacy we have been learning about Antarctica. We have had to make a description about Antarctica. I have made a description that I would like to share with you! - Layla
Awesome Antarctica
Antarctica is a great place for scientist to do their scientific researching on the land. It’s the most frosty, snowy, cold place in the WORLD!! Antarctica is a desert also known as the whitest continent in the world.
In Antarctica the explorers have to wear LOADS and LOADS of layers to keep warm in the freezing weather and the strong wind. They have to make sure they don’t wear too much otherwise the wind will get trapped underneath their layers and it will keep them cold all the time.
Explorers in Antarctica live in cabins and huts that have tunnels to get to one hut to another.
Antarctica is a very dangerous place to have fires. Fires are a worry to the people who go to Antarctica because nobody would know how to put the fire out.
Antarctica is a very dangerous place to have fires. Fires are a worry to the people who go to Antarctica because nobody would know how to put the fire out.
Animals are also important in Antarctica. Such as Penguins, Killer Whales and Albatross they all live in the Antarctic area. They all have different adaptations that help them survive in the dry areas in Antarctica.
The climate change in Antarctica is also very important. The hottest temperature in Antarctica is -17.5 °C. The coldest air temperature in Antarctica was -89.2 °C. Satellite measurements have found other even lower temperatures underground which is -93.2 °C.
I like Antarctica because scientist go there to study Antarctica. I also like Antarctica because of all the cute animals who can survive the COLD weather.
